Sub-Saharan African Persecution of Christians Intensifying

In 2018, Africa surpassed Latin America as the continent with the most Christians - 660+ million. Because of this amazing growth, the Vatican has called Africa "the beacon of hope for the church." The average age of Christians in Africa is 19 years old.

This bright Christian light, however, is being dimmed, most notably in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa. Persecution since 2009 has included both Christians (125,009 killed) and indigenous Hausa Muslims (60,000 killed) as Islamic terror groups seek to obliterate Christianity (and others) in their goal to impose Sharia law across Nigeria and all of Sub-Saharan Africa.

As news of the atrocities in Nigeria became known, the U.S recently declared Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" (again), calling for the Nigerian government to protect its citizens. Please pray for the hundreds of thousands of displaced Nigerian Christians who have lost family, homes, land, and livelihood in these terror attacks.
