“Samal” is one of many Muslim Background Believers (MBBs) encouraged through the ministry of Pastor Jack. Raised as a Muslim, she made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus Christ. Like many who come to faith from a Muslim background, her decision came at a tremendous personal cost.

When her husband discovered that she had become a Christian, he divorced her, leaving Samal to face life on her own. She now lives in a tiny first-floor apartment where she has experienced ongoing hostility because of her faith. Neighbors have thrown rocks through her windows, and at times they have even thrown stones at her when she ventured outside. The message was clear—they did not want a Christian living among them.

The pain of rejection extended beyond her marriage. Her son, who was raised by his father after the divorce, treated Samal harshly for many years. Yet God continued to work. Over time, their relationship began to heal, and mother and son were reconciled. In a remarkable sign of growing trust, her son eventually asked Samal to take his own child to church with her.

Recently, Samal faced another challenge when she developed a serious problem with one of her eyes that required surgery. Through Pastor Jack, Living Stones International was able to help cover the cost of the procedure. 

Her son knew that the financial assistance came from Christians. He also knew that Christians had previously helped him start a business. Witnessing this practical expression of Christ's love caused him to rethink the bitterness he had long held toward both his mother and Christians in general.

Please pray that Samal's eye will heal quickly and completely following her surgery. Most importantly, pray that the Lord will continue to soften her son's heart, drawing him to faith in Jesus Christ. What began as hostility has become an opportunity for the love of Christ to be seen, and we ask God to complete the work He has begun in this family.
