in bangladesh: beaten with sticks

In late August, Pastor "Matt" was brutally attacked on a public street by Muslim men carrying large wooden sticks. He suffered serious injuries and spent several days in the hospital before beginning a slow recovery.

While he was receiving medical care, his family endured another blow. Their home was stripped of everything - furniture, clothing, personal possessions, even the family goat that helped provide income. What had been a simple but secure dwelling now stands empty.

This attack reflects a wider reality. Pressure on Christians in Bangladesh has been building for years, but after the government was overthrown in August 2025, hostility intensified. Christians report being warned that they will be killed if they share the gospel. One pastor has been confined to his home for weeks because of repeated threats.

Please pray for Pastor Matt's full recovery and for protection over his family as they rebuild their lives. Pray for courage and endurance for Christians across Bangladesh who live with daily threats. And pray that those who oppose them will encounter the love and mercy that only Christ can give.

The hardship is real, but so is God's sustaining grace. In these difficult days, the faith of Bangladesh's Christians continues to shine.
